About me

Welcome to my website.

I set up my private practice in 2007. I work from a quiet, private room in my home in the village of Plumpton Green at the foot of the South Downs. Plumpton Green is a short drive from the surrounding towns of Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath, Hassocks and Lewes and has a mainline train station and there is ample free parking.

My counselling approach is person centred. I will work with you to find your own solutions to what is troubling you providing a safe environment in which to do so.

I worked in a hospice for nine years as a counsellor and bereavement coordinator. I provided counselling to patients and their families as well as bereavement counselling and group work. I am an individual accredited member of BACP (MBACP) and a member of the person centred art therapy association PCATA. I adhere to the BACP code of ethics and professional practice.

I am experienced in short term work for employee assistance schemes and I have experience of going in to the work place to support employees in response to a critical incident.

After I qualified I trained in Person Centred Art Therapy. I have a range of materials to use including a sand tray and objects.

I have experience of working with people who have a mental health diagnosis including trauma and dissociation. I have regular continuing professional development.

Before I trained as a counsellor I worked in IT technical support for several large multinational companies. I’ve worked as an administrator/book-keeper for a small local company and as a control centre operator for Mid Sussex lifeline so have experience of a variety of roles and working environments.
